Brawl Stars Adds QoL Updates and Fixes
Brawl Stars has added a broad set of quality-of-life updates and fixes spanning gameplay behavior, language support, presentation, and technical issues. The changes include Latin American Spanish as a language option, a clearer online-status display in the Friend List, and a revised respawn invincibility shield that gives players more control over when that protection ends. Rather than waiting for the shield to disappear on its own, a player can now remove it by taking an action: attacking, using a Gadget, activating a Super, or activating a Hypercharge.
Several adjustments focus on making interactions easier to understand during a match. Bull’s Tough Guy Star Power and Nita’s Faux Fur Gadget no longer receive benefits from respawn protection through their 0.5-second immunity; those effects now only prevent damage. Brock’s Rocket Laces Gadget also changes its movement behavior, jumping in Brock’s facing direction instead of toward the closest enemy. Hank receives a separate crowd-control interaction: if he is muted or crowd-controlled, his bubble bursts and deals damage rather than canceling his attack. Together, these changes clarify how protection, movement, and interrupted attacks behave in active combat.

Respawn control and speed changes
The respawn shield adjustment is one of the most direct gameplay-facing changes in the update. Protection is removed when the player chooses to attack or use a Gadget, Super, or Hypercharge. This makes the transition from respawning to rejoining a fight dependent on a deliberate action, while players who do not act retain the shield until its normal end. The update also separates that respawn protection from the brief immunity attached to Bull’s Tough Guy and Nita’s Faux Fur, preventing those effects from gaining respawn-protection benefits while preserving their damage prevention role.
Movement bonuses are another major part of the quality-of-life pass. Gear Speed now stacks with other sources of speed boosts, and a listed group of Star Powers once again stacks with those other sources. The affected Star Powers are 8-Bit’s Plugged In, Angelo’s Flow, Bibi’s Home Run, Colt’s Slick Boots, El Primo’s Meteor Rush, Grom’s Foot Patrol, Hank’s It’s Gonna Blow, Jae-Yong’s The Crowd Goes Mild, Lily’s Vigilance, Melodie’s Fast Beats, Moe’s Speeding Ticket, Nori’s His Mother’s Son, Ollie’s Kick, Push, Pierce’s Slip’n Snipe, Rico’s Robo Retreat, Sirius’s Dusk Runners, and Willow’s Obsession. The change is specifically about stacking speed boosts, giving players a clearer rule for how Gear Speed and these named Star Powers interact with other speed sources.
Interface, visuals, and fixes
Outside direct combat behavior, the update adds Latin American Spanish and improves the visibility of player online status in the Friend List. The rarity name Ultra Legendary has changed to Ultra. Meg’s second Gadget is now called Toolbox and has a new icon, while Rico’s first Gadget is now called Multiball Launcher and also receives a new icon, both intended to better reflect their reworks. New Hypercharge Skins will no longer be bundled with Pins, Sprays, or Icons. Personalized offers may be shown to some players; eligible players can turn Personalized Offers off through the Settings menu, although some offers may remain visible until they expire.
Presentation updates include refreshed mecha transformation effects for all Meg Skins, polished VFX for Squeak’s Slow Area Gadget, and updated teleport VFX for Lola and Max. Hank’s basic-attack VFX are now semi-transparent on certain Skins where they had been opaque. Gus Championship Skin receives custom shield VFX. Brock’s Hypercharge VFX now follows the stated standard that only Hypercharge and Pro Pass Skins receive custom Hypercharge VFX. Sound work adds material-matched SFX for each tile hit or destroyed and changes the sound of opponents collecting Power Cubes to better distinguish those pickups from pickups by the player or an ally.
- Gameplay reference: the respawn shield ends when a player attacks or activates a Gadget, Super, or Hypercharge; Gear Speed and the listed Star Powers can stack with other speed boosts.
- Fix reference: the update addresses Hypercharge damage interactions for Larry & Lawrie and Leon, reload-speed behavior for Jacky and Willow, Kit’s possessed-attack indicator and projectile path, and a loading issue that could leave some players stuck at 87%.

| Update area | Confirmed change |
|---|---|
| Player options and interface | Latin American Spanish is available, Friend List online status is clearer, Ultra Legendary is renamed Ultra, and eligible players can opt out of personalized offers in Settings. |
| Combat behavior and corrections | Brock’s Rocket Laces jumps in his facing direction; Hank’s bubble bursts for damage when muted or crowd-controlled; Griff’s piggy bank gains a Hypercharge damage boost like Coin Shower. |

This update is centered on clearer choices and clearer feedback. Respawn protection now ends through player action, selected speed effects regain stacking behavior, and several Brawler interactions are corrected or made more predictable. Alongside those gameplay adjustments, the language, Friend List, visual, sound, offer, and loading changes extend the quality-of-life focus beyond individual matches.
